Lessons from European History
Lessons from European History
Nearly every major war and upheaval in modern world history can be traced back, in one way or another, to Europe.
From the Seven Years’ War that began in 1756, to the Napoleonic Wars beginning in 1803; from the First World War in 1914, to the Second World War that erupted in 1939; struggles among great powers, ethnic conflicts, imperial expansion, and the long shadow of the Cold War — even today, the Russia–Ukraine conflict continues.
Europe gave birth to brilliant civilizations, yet it also pushed the world to the edge of catastrophe again and again.
Centered on the author Yeshan Luming’s series Lessons from European History, this section revisits European history, examines the causes of war, and explores why humanity repeatedly falls into the same cycles of destruction. Through history, it seeks to gain insight and help prevent the outbreak of another world war.
This section also includes historical series such as The Woman Behind the Empire · The Legend of Catherine the Great, offering a deeper understanding of European history and civilization through the lenses of politics, culture, power, and human nature.
History is not merely the past. If humanity cannot remember history, history will often repeat itself once again.
